A seasonal evening of flickering visual fireworks, barely-remembered formats and sonic seances featuring glimmers of the ghostly televisual past, psychogeographical spoken word and moving pictures with Laura Grace Ford and in bewitching live musical performance Kemper Norton and Teleplasmiste.

Hosted by Travis Elborough and Stonecirclesampler.

Remember, remember, the 7th of November

Laura Grace Ford is a London-based artist and writer concerned with spatial narratives, contested space, architecture, fiction and memory. Drawing on cognitive mapping and the derive, Ford interrogates place by mapping the psychic contours of the city. She has developed a multidisciplinary practice where spectral languages erupt as fictions and dreamings, a reconnection with emancipatory forces in the city.

Savage Messiah, a collection of her acclaimed fanzine, was published by Verso in 2011 and reissued in 2020, is part polemic about the marginalization of the city's working class and part exploration of the thrilling cracks that can open up in urban space.

Praised by The Wire for 'creating something moving, eerie and somewhat chilling out of almost nothing' Kemper Norton is a Brighton-based Cornwall-born musician who uses digital and analogue hardware and software, acoustic instruments, field recordings and traditional song to explore neglected or original areas of landscape and folklore. Norton's most recent cassette release Tall Trees (and other tales) (2024) focused on excavating personal memories of long-gone Cornish nightclubs, venues and raves, while his latest project mines the industrial china clay around St Austell.

As Teleplasmiste, Mark O Pilkington (Luminous Foundation, The Begotten) and Michael J York (The Utopia Strong, Current 93, The Witching Tale) have been performing their captivating, intense and transcendent music for over a decade. Combining complex, textured electronics with acoustic instruments including bagpipes and bells, their infrequent, improvised live sets can run the gamut from hushed noise to crushing ambience.
