A public-school-educated, wealthy, very young white Englishman decides that he has had enough of life, that there is no place for him in the world, so books himself into Gethsemane Garden Village Retirement and Care Home, a very exclusive and expensive retirement home near Basingstoke and Reading. He has recently travelled to India where he had a mystical encounter with Death and learnt about the Hindu Fourth (and last) Stage of Life where you take to the roads with nothing but a begging bowl. This strikes a chord with him. He resolves to give away all his money, renounce the world and embrace a life of poverty and devotion. But not just yet....
