MARKET 2-11PM
MUSIC 8-11PM
This solidarity market is raising funds for vital initiatives that provide food, supplies, and medicine for those who remain steadfast on their land. These support networks include our friends: The Sanabel Team food bank in Gaza, and medicine drives in the south of Lebanon.
Since our last solidarity market in November 2023, our government has continued to ignore the people’s support for Palestinian self-determination and Lebanese resistance. As they surveil and threaten the livelihoods of Muslim communities and stifle boycotts and protests against the genocide in Gaza that continues despite the pretence of a ceasefire.
As of today (16 March), over 14% of Lebanon’s population (830,000 people) have been forcibly displaced, with 500 people killed by the recently intensified Israeli invasion. Israel has ordered further blanket evacuations in South Lebanon and threatened to replicate the genocide in Gaza.
In violation of the ceasefire agreement, genocide in Gaza continues, abetted by the UK, EU, and US. Since 19 Jan 2025, Israel’s strikes and shelling alone have killed 650 people and wounded thousands more. The siege on Gaza continues to limit access to clean water, food, shelter, and vital medicine, leaving more people to die from preventable diseases and malnutrition.
We learn from the UK-EU-US-Israel Imperial Alliance’s attacks on Iran and Lebanon that this iteration of ongoing genocide in Palestine has set a renewed precedent for the expansion of the state of Israel. Instead of taking meaningful action, our elected leaders scramble to lend military, economic, diplomatic, and ideological support to the settler colonial project and to destabilise the region for their own agendas. The complicity of our state remains undeniable, yet we can continue to come together and support each other in grief, rage, and resistance to state violence, local and global.
To make it manageable and affordable for as many people as possible to contribute at the solidarity market, there will be guide prices for items but the majority will be “pay what you can.” If you can pay less or more than the guide prices, please do. All of your money will go directly to where it is most needed on the ground in Gaza and the South of Lebanon.
All Welcome. All budgets.
Thank you as ever to the Horse Hospital and to everyone who donated for their generosity.
