Across performance-lectures, mis/remembered archival fragments, and dis/embodied research, Rumours asks: What happens when gossip becomes an archive? What survives in gesture when language betrays? Can certain truths only be articulated through f(r)iction? What if the future is something we remember?

The Landing Strip organise events that combine live experimental music and pole dance performances.
For RUMOURS, TLS present: Earz to the ground. For this performance we think about gossip as a means to debrief, keep safe, warn, and unmask. Reality can be surreal, when the circulated/stated narrative is strongly upheld. Lipsync instruments; NDA bands behind curtains on the arena tour, disgust and disdain obfuscated by lip liner and a blank smile. Amid the smoke and mirrors, we endlessly gossip; spread rumours as collective armour. Did you talk to him? Have you worked with them? Any gossip? Sharing after the fact, when the dangerous moment is gone; the next one anticipated. Checking for reactions and reading between the lines, to set or test what the boundaries; limits should/could be. Telling a funny story about a fucked up situation as a warning while we laugh and take note.
Opashona Ghosh will give a performance lecture with the title: "Then you have a responsibility which no man has ever faced: you have your fear, which might become reality; and you have Godzilla, which is reality."
Opashona Ghosh is an Indian-born artist and educator based in London, working across sound, image, and archive. Their practice takes an anti-colonial feminist approach to (un)worlding through artistic and pedagogical interventions.
Working within the unstable space of bardo, they explore thresholds between sickness and health, presence and disappearance, fact and fiction. They are messily invested in co-imagining informal structures for the circulation of knowledge, agency, and collective experience beyond dominant fantasies of permanence, nationhood, and spectacle.
Meera Shakti Osborne presents: Mangrove Transmission.
Meera Shakti Osborne is a multi-media artist and youth worker from London. Shakti Osborne's work explores landscapes as sites of reckoning and renewal, exploring the subject of apocalypses and utopias that sit side by side each other. Shakti Osborne supports a free Palestine and a free Sudan. They support self-determination and believe another world is possible. They are currently working inside archives focused on community safety in north west London.
Cliché Toupee is a London-based musician with a fondness for temperamental machinery and making things sound suspiciously old. Working with tapes, guitar, drones and other hot mess electronics (such as her spring reverbs). Her music evokes colours for deterioration, repetition and moments of unexpected tenderness. She promises it sounds like that on purpose. Her performance in RUMOURS is called Summers last sound.
