Join us for an evening dedicated to the intersections of art and death as we celebrate the publication of Death: A Graveside Companion. Edited by Morbid Anatomy creator Joanna Ebenstein, this new book features over 1000 images--many never before published--related to the ways humanity has imagined death over the centuries. It also inludes 19 wide-ranging essays by a variety of thinkers, authors, artists, and rogue scholars drawn from the greater Morbid Anatomy community.

Tonight, enjoy a variety of short talks by contributors Mark Pilkington of Strange Attractor, anatomical sculptor Eleanor Crook, John Troyer of the Centre for Death and Society, University of Birmingham's Lisa Downing, art historian Liselotte Hermes da Fonseca and Morbid Anatomy creator Joanna Ebenstein spanning such topics as the intersections of eros and thanatos (sex and death), art channeled via the spirits of the dead, "anatomical expressionism," and enigmatic 17th century anatomized figures of christ.

Books will also be available for sale (at a special reduced rate!) and signing.
