Since CUT! launched in August 2010, we’ve made it our mission to screen EXCLUSIVE ADVANCE PREVIEWS of some of the most horrific, arty, and downright weird movies around – all accompanied by FREE BEER and with every attendee getting entered into a FREE PRIZE DRAW to win a goodie bag bulging with DVDs, plus a box of assorted BIZARRE crap we’ve found lying around the office.

MOVIE: THE WOMAN – The latest shocker from May director Lucky McKee is so uncompromisingly visceral and in-your-face, you’ll feel like you’ve gone 10 rounds with Tyson! Which is undoubtedly why some viewers fled for the exits mid-screening, when it debuted in the US. Co-written by horror author Jack Ketchum, the convincingly performed tale illustrates the moral chaos caused when a respected lawyer captures a feral female in local woods, then chains her up in his family’s backyard basement. Although its creators employ torture porn tactics to push the boundaries of taste (we defy you not to squirm when you witness what daddy’s little boy gets up to), ultimately The Woman is a scathing depiction of the darkness that often lurks inside ‘normal’ folk.
