The Museum of Sex Objects is delighted to present a talk from Anna Bones exploring the practice of Shibari. This is one of a series of talks exploring sexual cultures programmed by The Museum of Sex Objects to coincide with their month-long exhibition at The Horse Hospital this September.

Is it art? Is it porn?

Who is practicing this?

Is it anti-feminist?

Is it sexual?

Does it hurt?

Why does it?

Anna started Anatomie Studio in 2015 with her husband, Fred Hatt. In the beginning, she wanted to create an approachable space for solo women looking to explore rope and kink in an open and relaxed environment. Today the space is a major hub for shibari education (shibari is the Japanese term for 'tie' or 'bind', most used to describe Japanese bondage techniques) and a reference space worldwide. The space has grown and evolved since its inception and is home to a diverse community of rope lovers. Anna and Fred have learned a great deal about how people on the inside view rope and how "outsiders" perceive it. Anna is here to share some surprising insights with you.

Questions are welcome. Demo included.
