Feedback can be technical or social.
Feedback is everywhere.
Presented by Bad Bias, FEEDBACK TO FEEDB′ACK brings together women and gender-marginalised artists from East and Southeast Asian (ESEA) and diasporic backgrounds to explore feedback through the ways we meet, affect and are changed by one another.
The programme draws on ganying (感應), an early Chinese cosmological idea of ‘stimulus and response’, to think about resonance between people and things, especially where certain experiences, conditions or qualities are shared. The programme extends this idea from individual encounters to the communities we form and move between, considering how these communities overlap and exist within a wider, interconnected ecology rather than in isolation.
Through experimental sound, movement and improvisation, feedback takes shape within each work, while the evening as a whole unfolds as one continuous feedback loop.
The evening unfolds as a feedback loop, moving through initial signal, encounter, ganying 感應 (resonance and response), and return as a new input.

Dann Xiao is a multidisciplinary artist based in London, working between fine art and experimental theatre. Holding a MA degree from the Royal College of Art, and is currently doing another MA at Central Saint Martins.
Dann’s practice intervenes body in spaces and objects, reorganising the relationships through motions. They create a scenography that reinterprets the nature of nature, and the meaning of found objects, providing solutions to certain problems that may cause more problems.
Sakuretz! (Explosion of True Colours) is a project by Japanese composer and performer Motoya.
Sakuretz! invites people into experiences where their true colours can be found & erupt—where one spark meets another, giving rise to an ever-evolving cycle of positive synergy.
Originally from Singapore, Amanda Pang is a contemporary dance artist based in London. She trained at The Place(LCDS) before joining the post-graduate company Verve. She has worked with a range of artists such as Luca Signoretti, Sattva Nguyen, Bosmat Nossan, and Sung Im Her. Most recently, she was an intern with Skånes Dansteater and performed with the company in a phenomenological site-specific work by Philippe Blanchard. Amanda’s artistic practice spans across movement research, improvisation, and performance. She is interested in exploring multidisciplinary and collaborative works to expand her creative engagements and open new avenues for her artistry. On top of her creative work, she is also currently co-producing a Singaporean/Southeast Asian performance event, rojak.rojak. A platform to celebrate our cultural identity while showcasing and supporting the works of emerging artists within the community.
Lucia H Chung is a Taiwanese experimental noise artist based in London, United Kingdom. She performs and releases music under the alias ‘en creux’ where sound creation springs from her interests and fascinations in the inherent noise floor within audio equipment. She uncovers and reveals such hidden noise via her manipulations with no-input feedback mixing. The volatile nature of feedback and the unpredictable glitch from the excessive energy generated within the equipment becomes her improvisational and compositional strategy. As the word 'en creux' suggests, she summons a hollowed out, reversed form of sound from the mixing console.
Lucia’s passion lies in live and improvised performance and has regularly performed solo and with other artists in the UK, Europe, Asia and North America, including Lausanne Underground Film and Music Festival (CH), Krama Festival (GR), Lisboa Soa Festival (PT), Sanatorium of Sound Festival (PL), Festival Electropixel (FR), Sonorities Festival (NI), Through the Floor Festival (UK), Supernormal (UK) and Laking Sound Festival (TW).
Regan Bowering is a percussionist, improviser and sound artist based in London. Her solo work explores various combinations of drums and percussion, objects, amps, speakers, and feedback. Her debut album “Solos for _ _ _ _ Spaces” (Dec 2023 on Bezirk Tapes) was described as “a play of contrasts, contradicting voluminous expressions with confined phrases, taming resounding feedback with faint percussive flutters, but one that feels driven by the desire to craft electrifying drama rather than pure autotelic dissonance.” (The Quietus).
Soo Hahn is a Korea-born director working across film and performance, currently based in London. Blending a mix of technology and analogue media, their work centres movement to create visceral and cathartic narratives. Their work showcases conflicts between attention and validation that are often presented in diasporic and marginalised identities, exploring the relationship between these struggles and human connection. In this way, their work speaks more widely about identity, introspection, and the collective struggle.
With a set design & creative direction background, they have worked with clients as Spotify, Crisis, Skin+Me, Cadbury, and Aveeno. Their work has been platformed by the likes of ICA, Saatchi Learning, National Gallery Late, Shiny Awards, PromoNews, 1884 Magazine, Nasty Magazine, and more. Based in London, they are currently completing an MA in performance design at Central Saint Martins.
Bad Bias is a London-based organisation producing multidisciplinary events centred on East and Southeast Asian (ESEA) arts and culture. Through curated programmes and experimental formats, we collaborate with ESEA creatives to create safe and creative spaces where artists and audiences can engage with ESEA cultures and stories.
