The London Underground Film Collective has prepared another programme of cinematic marvels for you in June. Presented by David Sharkey, this session will include Hannah Beadman’s latest short film, a selection of shorts from Lethal Lesbian, the Israeli lesbian film festival, and a feature film chosen and introduced by Dr Patricia MacCormack, the author of Cinesexuality, with musical intermissions by REEPERBAHN’s resident DJs.
HANNAH BEADMAN “We’re Not in Minnesota Any More”
Hannah Beadman is a film & video artist, whose documentary “Wild West” screened at the very first London Underground Film Festival in 2010. Her work deals with Other, or that which is hidden/ surfacing from the psyche: elements of dreamscape, inner landscape, emotional memory, longing, transformation. “We’re Not in Minnesota Any More” is her latest short film.
SELECTED SHORTS FROM LETHAL LESBIAN (THE ISRAELI LESBIAN FILM FESTIVAL)
Lethal Lesbian’ is an Israeli film festival dedicated entirely to lesbian content and held annually since 2008. It is a unique event aimed at bringing lesbian cinema closer to its audience, who is otherwise unable to reach it. The festival is comprised of various short films, in any genre, from comedy and drama to video art and documentaries. This is the only film festival in Israel screening work that is entirely local; participating films are all created by Israeli women.
We will be screening a feature-length horror film selected and introduced by Dr Patricia MacCormack (Anglia Ruskin University), the author of “Cinesexuality”. She has published widely on continental philosophy, post-structuralism, film, sexuality and feminism.
Reeperbahn is a club night in east London. Resident DJs LiNN und SiMON PREEN will be playing synth / minimal wave / coldwave / new wave / italo disco / electronic body music / alternative 80′s / future electronic sound between films.
