Saturday May 21st
kinoKULTURE presents: kinoKULTURE & the Whitechapel
kinoKULTURE teams up with the Whitechapel Gallery for a London-spanning double bill of bizarre and microscopically precise American outsider films.

“I took the butcher knife, ‘n’ put it up ta her neck, I said, ‘if you want to live ta see tomorrow, you better start fryin’ then eggs a little bit better ‘n’ what you’re fryin’ ‘em. I’m tard of eatin’ sloppy, slimy eggs.’”
A revealing portrait of the nearly extinct Appalachian culture focusing on mountain dancer Jesco White and his extraordinary life as three people: Jesse (good), Jesco (bad) … and Elvis. Cult classic.

then a quick dash to

The Horse Hospital
FUN WITH DOLLS
doors open 7pm
entry £7 / £5 members / concessions
Made available to us by Minneapolis-based avant-filmmaker Jason Wade, FUN WITH DOLLS features David, a developmentally disabled man, four life-size Punky Brewster dolls, a pack of marigolds, five belts, five pairs of men’s underwear, a g-string, a pair of knickers, three pairs of tights, an American Diabetic Association promotional t-shirt, ten pounds of soft brown clay, yards of plastic sheeting, an electronic blackjack game and an hour long tape-loop of Paul McCartney’s ‘Silly Love Songs’.
Need we say more?
The film equivalent of the Sex Pistols ‘Screen On The Green’ concert – you’ll be telling your grandchildren you were there.
"This film is the absolute shit" - Orlando Harrison, Alabama 3
tickets for both films: £10
